Antique Japanese 2-section futon tansu, made with chestnut wood frame, keyaki (elm) wood drawers and slider panels, sugi (cryptomeria) wood interior, iron hardware, top section has been converted into an entertainment center with shelves for components (can be removed if desired), small safe box compartment with key and two small drawers inside, Meiji Period (1868-1912). Antique Japanese okidoko (shelf for tokonoma), for Japanese display and storage, made all of keyaki (elm) wood with beautiful grain, 4 sliding doors open to one large compartment, pulls for sliding panels have raised motifs of flowers and waves, Taisho Period (circa 1920). Size: 14" high (12" high to top surface) x 63 3/4" long x 13 1/4" deep.

Beautiful large Japanese standing Amida Buddha, finely carved wood with red, black and gold lacquer, flowing drapery. Standing on base carved to look like rock and lotus and painted with a gold lacquer, inlaid glass eyes. Early Meiji Period (1868 - 1912) Size: 42" high x 19 1/4" wide x 14 1/2" deep.

An incredibly painted antique Japanese 6 panel screen painting depicting a scene of 3 red-crowned cranes flying low getting ready to land over the cresting waves crashing up against mountainside. Gold leaf layer down with hand painted mineral pigments on paper. A touch of young pine come through on the hill side. Beautifully painted and in excellent original condition.

Japanese four prong Vajra or diamond thunderbolt form Chisakuin Temple, bronze with worn gilt, Edo age (over 200 years old). Very powerful ritual tool representing firmness of spirit and spiritual power. Worn gilt on one side, all over relief, double sided with lotus flower in center, trident prongs emerging from the four cardinal directions. Size: 6 1/8" long

Worn gilt over thick copper pair of Buddhist ritual vessels, one with a single spout and movable handle, the other with double spouts and a long footed handle bisecting the middle opening of the container, the design has etched bamboo, pine, cranes and turtle on body, the handle has scrolling vines done with impressed dots, the traditional stylized crane of the Nichiren sect is on the medallion.
