Tibetan bronze gilt statue of Kubera, known as the "Lord of Wealth and the North". He originates from Hindu mythology but is also recognized in Buddhism and Jainism. He holds a mongoose as a symbol of his victory over the Nagas, snakelike deities and guardians over treasures. He sits upon the back of a lionlike creature and has an arch of flames with gilt tips behind him. The jewels on his crown and around his neck are dotted with blue and red enamel. From the left side, a blue scaled dragon with red hair and scales descends from a billowing cloud, clutching a ball in both of its front claws. Beautiful antique Tibetan gilt bronze and copper repouse statue of the bodhisatva Avalokeieshvara, modeled with multiple heads protruding from the top of head, and countless arms in a circular nimbus edged with flames, holding prayer beads, a lotus, a conch shell and other attributes, beautifully modeled features, 19th century. Size: 18 1/2" high x 14" wide x 5" deep.

Large antique Tibetan chest/trunk painted with a deep red background in front, with a coiled dragon within a large cloud-shaped border. Red and gold painted flowers with long, deep green stems fray out from behind the dragon and reaches inwards from the sides of the chest, with small green birds perching on either side of the dragon.
