Antique Tibetan kapala, or human skullcup, with a beautiful bronze stand. In Tibet, it was considered a great honor to have one's cranium turned into a kapala, which would be used for religious purposes. Kapalas are used in the Hindu Tantra and Buddhist religions. The skull itself is very old and is lined with nickel. The bronze stand has a beautiful lotus design, skulls going all around, the image of a kneeling worshipper, and hoof shaped feet. An unmounted Tibetan thangka of the Buddha Dipakar. The Buddha appeared prior to the historical Buddha, Shakyamuni. Legends of the Buddha's past lives tell of how in a past life when Shakyamuni was a human, he met Dipankar and offered his hair to cover the path the Buddha Dipankar was walking and Dipankar Buddha predicted that the man would become the next Buddha. Antique stone carving of Ganesha, the deity, deva, associated with the removal of obstacles. It was carved in the 19th century, acquired in Kathmandu in the 1960s. It measures 2.25" tall, 1"3/8" deep by 2" wide at base.

Antique Tibetan bronze vajra dorje. The handle has three heads topped with a horse. The vajra connects the hilt to the head of Makara where a three edged blade is attached. It was made in Tibet in the 19th/20th century, obtained in Kathmandu in the 1960s. It measures 12" long.

Tibetan Buddhist thangka protraying an image of Yamantaka, which is the wrathful form of Majushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom. The deity is flanked by Chenresig, Lama Tsongkhapa, a Bodhisattva similar to Namgyalma, and a blue tara. Age: 18th/19th century. Size: height 35.5" length 24.5" width 0.75"

Antique Tibetan Prajnaparamita made of patinated bronze. It has an elaborate crown framing the face with angular facial features. The figure is seated in royal ease pondering a shell in its right hand. The left hand holds a lotus sprig with traces of orange pigment. The figure has traces of prance, red, and yellow pigments. The robes are incised with a floral design. 20th century. It measures 12.25" tall.

A beautiful antique Himalayan / Tibetan gilt and silver repousse box, the lid with a pair of fish flanking a conch shell amid a reticulated ground, the base further etched with a pair of fish. Detailed with key fret motif and floral designs. Age: Late 19th Century. 5.25" length x 3.25" width.

Small yab yum sculpture of Vajrabhairava and consort, the term yab yum translates as "father, mother" and refers to a male deity in sexual embrace with female consort, circa early 20th century. Size: 5 1/4" high
