A vintage Japanese Isho Tansu (Kimono chest) in 3 section made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood with Kaki (Persimmon) wood accents. All original bronze and other metal hardware. Beautiful lacquer decorative plates adorn the sliding doors with a pair of flying cranes, woven baskets and bamboo trees. Behind the doors lie three small drawers and a split level shelf. Rare Antique 19th C Korean Double Nong Chest Phoenix & Dragon Motif
A 19th Century Korean double Nong chest decorated with Phoenixes and dragons. Speckled with gold flecks onto dry lacquer inlaid with mother of pearl, horn and brass. The circular brass hardware is cast in the form of a shou symbology, longevity and happiness. The double doors swing out exposing the compartment's navy blue gauzy fabric. The chest has a built in stand.

Korean furniture is highly sought after and difficult to find due to its exemplary craftsmanship.

An antique Japanese Tansu chest called Todana made of Kiri (Paulownia) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Hikute style handles with an Urushi lacquer finish. Two sliding doors open to a storage area with a removable shelf where books were stored. Five drawers below provide additional storage and function.

An antique Japanese scholar's table made of Kokutan (Ebony) and Bamboo. Beautiful original Urushi lacquer finish and constructed using Japanese joinery for strength and durability. Beaded Ebony contains the Bamboo that decorates the stand and leg structure creating an elegant refined presentation. The stand has beautiful negative cutouts on the apron front and back.
