A stunning Chinese porcelain Dayazhai-type jar grisaille painted with yellow ground. The monochromatic imagery of black and grey peonies against a yellow enamel ground scrolls around the body under a band of ruyi heads below a band of key-fret. With descriptive tag on the base "From the Hall of Embodied Harmony". There is also a Museum Porcelain Exhibition tag. Unusual Japanese Buddhist Zushi with dark, lacquered wood exterior and gilt interior. Enshrined in this portable altar is the statue of Buddha seated on a lotus. His two attendants are sitting on a dragon and fox. The double doors and roof top are decorated with scrolling gilt metal work.

Double Diamond Chinese Laquer Box with Wicker Inserts
Unique double diamond Chinese Lacquer Box from the 18th C. The lid of the box has a gold painted mountain scene with two sages near a mountain stream. The crackling of the lacquer indicates the age of the box. The woven wicker inserts encased in a red painted frame on the 8 sides are in pristine condition. Small gold flowers are painted adjacent to the frames. The interior of the box is a large open space.

Unusual Japanese 36 Drawer Apothecary Tansu
Japanese apothecary tansu made with Kiri (Paulownia) wood in original red lacquer finish, with an iron carrying handle on its top for transportation. The chest holds 35 deep drawers with small ring pulls, each drawer bears an interior calligraphy inscription in sumi ink to indicate which medicine belongs in which drawer. The 36th drawer is the largest at the bottom of the chest with the same larger handle as the top of the chest.
Original finish in great condition

Antique hand-woven bamboo basket, originating from the Jarai culture in Vietnam. Secured with wood frame, baskets of this kind were primarily used for collecting and storing rice. The lid is woven with a tall, wood finial with pierced hole for securing it down with ties. The sides of the basket are woven with alternating darker and lighter bamboo to create a pair of bands over a geometric diamond design, with remnants of red pigments.
