Antique Japanese large iron lantern in two sections, wonderful form with lamp section cut out with kiri blossom motifs, Meiji Period c1900 Size: 21" high x 14" wide

Antique Japanese ko-dansu/tansu made from kiri (paulownia) wood with brick red lacquer finish. Has heavy iron hardware such as handles in a style called "hirute". Original finish, excellent condition. Edo age (1615-1867) Size: 26.5" height, 31" width, 15.5" depth

Large Interesting Japanese Ceramic Tanuki. A real animal, Similar to a badger (ana-guma) and the raccoon (aria-guma). Some say the large scrotum is a reminder is a reminder not to be stingy.

Antique Chinese pair of beautiful hardwood cabinets (jumu wood) with open display shelves that have carved side panels with dragons and flora. Its two swinging doors with dramatic woodgrain open with brass fittings and have a roomy, shelved interior within. The finish of the wood is deep red with brown-orange highlights. 19th century. Japanese antique large musha ningyo (samurai warrior doll) of the great epic hero, Minamoto no Yoshitsune. His handsome face is set in a determined expression, he is seated with sword and saihai (command baton). He wears a spiked helmut, armor and silk robe woven with dragons. Edo Period. Size: 26" high (to very tip of helmet)

Japanese framed woodblock print by esteemed artist and forerunner to the sosaku-hanga movement Jun/Junichiro Sekino (1914-1988). The subject is a young woman sitting in a red chair, embracing a swan. The forms and colors he uses are pleasing to the eye in the way they compliment each other. Signature in bottom. Tibetan bronze gilt statue of Kubera, known as the "Lord of Wealth and the North". He originates from Hindu mythology but is also recognized in Buddhism and Jainism. He holds a mongoose as a symbol of his victory over the Nagas, snakelike deities and guardians over treasures. He sits upon the back of a lionlike creature and has an arch of flames with gilt tips behind him. The jewels on his crown and around his neck are dotted with blue and red enamel. Size: 13.5" height, 10" width, 6" depth

Exquisite Antique Japanese pair of large garden lanterns. Each is made of cast iron in 10 sections. The roof of each has raised writing, the lantern portions are decorated with kiri blossoms. The pedestals are coiled around with dragons in low relief, the base of each has high relief fu-dogs. Very difficult to collect. Meiji Period (1868 - 1912) All original iron Size of each: 62 1/2" high x 24" wide at widest part. (Each base is approx 20" wide)
