Wonderful large Japanese carved wooden figure of Diakuku, one of the Lucky Gods, he stands on two bales of rice and he holds a large sack on his back, lacquered wood, sweet expression, lacquered wood, this piece is 17th century. Size: 36" high x 21" wide x 19" deep.

Antique Chinese black dragon and phoenix priest's robe. Roundels embroidered with gold phoenix and dragon with clouds and waves. Silver and gold thread with red and green couching stitches. On the back of the robe there is a peach and jewels and the wheel of life on large back panel. Small overall wear and discoloration. 40" long x 62" sleeve to sleeve. Republic period. Rare Japanese antique fune-dansu (merchant's ship safe), made of quartered sawn keyaki (elm) wood with burl on front exterior. Top portion has one large exterior drawer, bottom portion appears to have two hinged opening door but in fact only the right side opens on it's hinge. The panel on the left side has a false hinge and actually slides to the right to reveal two small interior drawers.
