Indian statue of a jain buddha seated in meditation with hands and feet crossed carved out of white marble. The base has a weathered donatory inscription with a horned bull or possibly a rhino in the middle. If a rhinocerous, the statue would be of Mahavira in the 11th reincarnation. Traces of red pigment. The nose was broken during the muslim invasions of India sometime between the 13th and 16th centuries. From the Mt. Abu region, 15th-16th century. It measures 13"deep, 26" wide 30" tall.

Nepalese bronze pedestaled bowls from 18th-19th century. One bowl has a lotus blossom on the bottom of the bowl. The second bowl is decorated with a band of blooming flowers along the base. Deaccessioned from the Handley Private Collection. Measures 4" 5/8" tall, 4.25" at widest.

Bizen ware hexogonal vase with engravings of orchids on the side of the vase. The patina and color of the vase is very similar to those seen from the late Edo and early Meiji period. Interestingly, during this period elaborate decorations and moulding were created which was popular during this time. Korean ceramic bowl from the Goryeo dynasty, 12-14th century. The interior of the bowl is decorated with ducks and willow trees encircling the well which is embellished with blossoms. The exterior is decorated with a band of scrolling waves, flanking floral roundels. Old restoration. It measures 7.75" wide.

Antique chinese jade snuff bottle with a beautiful engraving of a water bird standing amid lotus. There are bats carved on each side. The opposite face of the bottle has an inscription derived from the noted Tang Dynasty poet, Cao Song. The poem is from the Quan Tang Si collection of Chinese poetry and the poetry is five character four line verse which ends midway. Beautiful jade snuff bottle in the shape of an elongated melon with dark green jade carved in the shape of leaves and lighter jade for the body. 3" long.

A set of kamishimo and hakama made from cotton used to dress a bunraku puppet. The fabric is utilizing a cherry blossom pattern with a wave motif. The cherry blossoms are done in a style known as katagami, where the pattern is printed using a paper cut out placed on top of the fabric and dye is coated over it. A magnificent and detailed noh mask known as Shojo, which is used specifically for the play that contains the same name as the mask. Shojo originated in China as a mythical beast and was imported to Japan as a sake loving creature. In Noh theater, the play is performed for festive and auspicious occassions where the character is dressed in a colorful noh costume and wearing a red wig.
