Antique pair of kapala, Buddhist ritual skull cups made of silver and mixed metal. Each cup stands on a triangular shaped base with repoussé flames and skulls. The cups themselves are rimmed with rows of tiny skulls and have lids with vajra finials. Show ritual use.

A vintage Chinese coffer altar cabinet in the Ming style made entirely of Huanghuali wood including the back and the interior shelves. All original brass square plate and loop handles with a pair of double hinged doors and 3 side by side drawers above. With classic spandrels and apron for the feet. The maker spared no expense using the finest quality materials and joinery craftsmanship in producing this piece.

A set of 6 mid century modern (MCM) double cane back dining chairs with overstuffed seats. Made by Rachid Ismael Assan through his company Fabrica de Moveis Brasil, a large school that started a modern furniture movement in Brazil and lasted for 54 years until 1981. The beautiful carved side supports for the seats combined with the perfectly arched backs to these very comfortable chairs will elevate any dining experience.

Japanese antique Baku carving for temple. The mythical creature, part lion, part elephant with clouds represents the beast that devours dreams. Carved from one solid piece of sugi (cryptomeria) wood.

The shishi and peony together is called Karajishi in which the ferocious beast is tempered by the beautiful queen of flowers, Yin and Yang. Carved from one solid piece of sugi (cryptomeria) wood.

Chinese antique pair of porcelain tiles. Painted in enamel with scenes of snowy landscapes. One panel with a pavilion in the snow, a figure on a path, tall mountains covered with snow and a persimmon tree bare of leaves and laden with fruit. The other panel shows a red pavilion in the mountains, snow on pine and red maple trees and two figures climbing a stepped path. Both tiles are framed in dark hardwood.
