A pair of large antique ancestor portraits, painted in mineral colors and ink with gold ink details on paper. A noble pair, a wealthy husband and wife, ornately dressed and sitting on carved chairs. As is traditional in this type of portrait the faces are rendered with much attention to each persons natural features and executed with many tiny brush strokes. The natural effect contrasts with the the elaborately rich robes which are executed in a much flatter manner, the patterns of dragons and phoenixes almost blending with the ornate carpet on which the pair sits.
