Zentner Collection: Antique Japanese Tansu, Asian Works of Art
An antique Japanese Kyoto Mizuya Tansu (kitchen chest) made of Hinoki (Cypress), Kaki (Persimmon) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. Constructed using mortise and tenon Japanese joinery and inlaid solid Persimmon wood sliding door runners. Hand made bronze hardware with Warabite and Maru Warabite handles. Side ribs accentuate the exterior design and add strength and beauty in design for years of lasting enjoyment. The textured glass that is original to the piece hides a split level shelf display accentuated by Persimmon wood. The upper sliding doors feature bronze handles with incised Chyrsanthemum and Cherry Blossoms.

The bottom sliding doors feature their original hand made copper twisted wire screens with hand carved floral panels.
