Antique Chinese 12-panel coromandel carved lacquer screen. A tranquil scene of court ladies and children, strolling through pavilion gardens, enjoying music and boats. The bottom of the screen is decorated with a band of zodiac animals. The top is decorated with small individual landscapes and flowers with a lovely gold ground. On either side are carved and gilded scholar objects. The reverse side of the screen is a large scale landscape scene of gnarled pines, blossoming plum, bamboo and various flowers. Ruyi mushrooms sprout from the green ground.
