Japanese antique scroll painting of Bodhidharma with large calligraphy. The whole of the paper is painted with a light wash of ink before applying the bold image with a large brush. The red seals are actually painted with a small brush. Bodhidharma is the monk credited with founding the Zen tradition of Buddhism.
