An antique Japanese stacking Gyosho Bako (peddler's box) made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron fittings with replacement cord. Seven stacking trays with a bottom eighth section housing an additional tray for products and a drawer where store supplies and money were kept. Top cover would be turned over to use as a product demonstration tray. Each tray has a recessed bottom that secures it to the underside tray. Constructed with hardened wooden nails.
