Antique Japanese natsume tea caddy in gold maki-e lacquer. The design is of fans, each with a different picture ranging from pine trees and huts to birds and a wheeled carriage. Various gold and polychrome lacquer techniques used. The inside glitters with a fine, dense nashiji.
