A finely carved Chinese jade toggle depicting a boy reclining on a peach, a traditional symbol of longevity and immortality in Chinese culture. The natural celadon green jade has a soft translucency with a smooth, hand worn polished finish.
The boy’s smiling expression and well carved robe. Th rounded form of the peach conveys auspicious wishes for a long and prosperous life. Jade toggles were often worn or attached to garments as personal talismans, believed to bring good fortune and protection.
