Japanese single section choba tansu, a merchant’s chest traditionally used for storing business records and valuables. This tansu features a bold red lacquer finish with original hand-forged iron hardware, including corner reinforcements, handles, and locks. The multiple drawers and sliding-door compartments provide organized storage, while the lower compartment offers a pair of sliding panels to reveal set of three drawer, a hidden drawer and open storage area.
Constructed from sugi (cedar) or hinoki (cypress) wood.
