Large Japanese antique bronze censer with ornate details. On the lid stands an oni (yōkai) carrying a Buddhist bell on his back. The body of the censer has a dragon with feathered wings flying through a sky with swirling clouds. The tripod legs are in the form of Ho-oh birds and the handles are ornately shaped. The round base has a medallion depicting an ancient turtle in waves. The entire surface of the censer is decorated with detailed archaic motifs. There is a raised cartouche on the bottom of the censer body signed "dai nipon seiun sai"..
