Original antique Japanese ko-tansu (small chest) featuring a beautifully grained burl keyaki (zelkova) wood front with a warm, rich patina. This Sendai-style tansu is fitted with its original forged iron hardware, including butterfly-style hinges on hinged safe compartment. The arrangement of drawers and a locking compartment reflects its practical function, originally used to store valuables and personal items.
