A Japanese inspired porcelain sagemono set titled "Hare on Waves" by American artist, Lynn Richardson (1942-2024). The set is comprised of a three-section inro, a rabbit ojime and a rabbit netsuke. The inro has two compartments and is decorated on one side with a lithe white ribbit jumping over waves - a Japanese motif representing the play of moonlight on water and, more symbolically, overcoming obstacles. The inro is marked with Richardson's seal impressed on the bottom. The set comes with it's original box with Richardson's mark and title on the back.

Lynn Richardson graduated from San Jose State College in 1965 with a degree in Art Education.
