Chinese antique small cinnabar lacquer cabinet richly carved with scenes of scholars and pavilions near a lake with boats. Even the negative space in the picture is carved with intricate three dimensional patterns. The cabinet opens via two hinged doors to reveal an interior with four small drawers, each carved with geometric pattern. A compartment on the left for storing larger items, is lacquered black. Hardware, including the door hinges and a lock on the front are all made of brass. The cabinet stands on four small feet which are also carved with designs to match the background.
