Chinese necklace created by the well-known California jewelry artist, Pat Tseng. The necklace is skillfully made with yarn-stuffed hand-dyed silk tubing for a modern effect. This is combined with traditional Chinese knot work to highlight a special antique jade carving. The carving, a medallion shaped piece of green and yellow jade, has a pair of chimera facing a central Shou symbol signifying longevity, health, and a long, prosperous life.
Pat Tseng was featured in “Ornament Magazine” in 2015 where her creations are referred to as “exquisite simplicity”. Her work is also published in Ornament Magazine in 1993, in an article titled “Pat Au-Young Tseng, Auspicious Emblems” by Douglas Bullis. And in 2014 Pat Tseng was honored as a distinguished artist by the city of San Francisco.
