Antique Chinese blue and white porcelain snuff bottle with very small and intricate scenic painting with a young man and his wife holding their child, standing in a garden. The artist would have started with a plain white base, painted his design with a mixture of finely ground cobalt oxide and water, and then used a transparent glaze all over. The eldest man in the center bears some likeness to the Immortal Zhongli Quan and wears a beautiful multi-toned robe of browns, greens, and blues, and wears a mass of flowers and leaves like a crown, which a blue-robed man, wearing a brown striped...
