Antique Chinese Silver and Jade Necklace
Chinese antique necklace made of silver and carved jade. A pendant of combined pieces: a carved green jade seated figure on a cloud of swirling mist from which hangs three gourd-shaped green jade pieces. The chain is set with little shòu (longevity) symbols with bats and hung with more gourd-shaped jades. All pieces are mounted with silver and the clasp is stamped.

The word for ram in Chinese sounds similar to the word for auspicious thus making this animal a symbol for good luck and prosperity. In Japan, the ram is one of the lucky Zodiac animals representing goodness, gentleness and harmony with the herd.
