Beautiful and unusual altar table with pink marble top, late 19th early 20th century. It is made of rosewood and beautifully carved with peony and iris flowers and dragons. There is a scrolling pattern on each side of the altar. There is a rectilinear pattern under the table top. It measures 35" wide 19" deep 32.5"' tall.

Rare Chinese Martavan. A martavan is a large stoneware or highly fired earthenware storage jars. Martavans were made by the Chinese in the ports of Maraban and Burma to ship goods to India and the near east. Their primary function was to store goods for shipment. Martavans were also used to store tuak, rice wine.
