Japanese kuruma tansu (wheeled storage chest), from the Mikuni area of Japan, made of keyaki (elm) wood, two long drawers on top portion of chest are held in place by a locking bar (comes with key), bottom portion of chest has large open compartment covered by sliding panels with horizontal slats, wonderful iron hardware, Edo Period. Size: 49 1/2" high x 54" wide x 23 1/2" deep.

Pair of Attendant Bodhisatvas, Edo Period, gilt over black and reddish brown lacquer. Losses. 33 inches height and 12 inches diameter.

Antique Japanese box with large lid, lacquered red and black with shell inlay, black lacquer mon of pine tree and writing in black, heavy iron hardware, has holes for tying top to bottom for travel. The inscription on both sides state the name of the confectioner. Trans.: Confectioners Matsuzaka Asano Rokkado. Late Edo Period- Meiji Period (late 19th century). Japanese Boxwood Recumbent ox netsuke, wonderful detail, especially carved fur and hooves, inlaid ebony eyes, signed by Tomokazu, good condition, Edo Period.
