Korean Antique Hanji Paper Sewing Box
Antique Korean sewing box made using the 1500 year old Korean paper technique called Hanji. Paper is made by hand from mulberry pulp and used to fashion various items. This 8 sided box is decorated with Double Happiness symbols and stands on four feet made of sea shells.

19th Yi dynasty Korean Buddha painting with 16 deities. The Korean Buddhist painting represents the portrayal of buddha giving a sermon on the Lotus Sutra on Youngchuksan mountain. The buddha is centrally positioned and directed as a larger figure amongst the many budasatvasf and lesser gods.

Symmetrically positioned to his right and left, represented a stable world order.

Antique Korean porcelain oval form vase with long, narrow neck. Glazed with transparent, very lightly tinted glaze with subtlety crackled surface.

Korean white porcelain was prized by members of the royal court during the Joseon Period. Special kilns were established by the court to exclusively produced these beautiful white porcelain vessels.

Antique Korean pair of small Koryŏ porcelain cups. Elegant form with small feet and sharply flared sides. Fine celadon glaze in pale blue with high transparency. The interiors are a paler translucent glaze. Each cup has a simple blue underglaze dot in the underside of the foot.

Low rectangular Korean Inlaid table depicting a swirling 4-toed dragon with gold swirling inlaid whimsical clouds. Overall very good condition consistent with age. Brown lacquer over card wood body.

Korean Antique Tall Painted Panel of Two Phoenixes and Flowers
Antique Korean painting, very tall and narrow, of a pair of phoenix birds, one occupying the upper portion of the painting and the other one on the bottom. The lower phoenix emerges from water as shown by a blossoming lotus. The rest of the space surrounding both birds is filled with robust peony blossoms of different color. Painted in rich mineral colors on paper. Later put into a custom lacquered wood frame.
