Antique Japanese sumidagawa ware vase with an incredibly realistic three-dimensional dragon coiled all around the body of the vase. The vase itself is very textured in body with a vertically ribbed form as well as tight ridges horizontally. The upper body and neck are glazed in thick oil spill colors. The backside of the piece has a blue chop within a white gourd. Meiji period (1868-1912) Size: 18" H x 10" W

Antique Chinese Pao Tao Peking rug depicting the legendary Fenghuang, or phoenix bird, perched under a Wutong or "Happiness" tree. Hand-woven in deep navy, light blue and cream. Polka dotted and geometric scrolling vines border the central image. 19th century Size: 40" x 53"

Beautiful antique Chinese snuff bottle carved all of dark agate. The stone is so smokey and dark it appears almost black but has lovely clouds of deep orange on one side. On the reverse side of the bottle, classic agate striations can be seen ranging from almost black to very thin areas of almost clear translucency. The lid of the bottle is made of a brighter orange agate and has long since lost it's spoon. The bottle is carved into an ovoid form and is pleasingly smooth and balanced. Early... Click for details

A beautiful Chinese Pao Tao Peking rug, hand-woven in deep navy, medium blue, light blue, and cream colors. It depicts mirrored images of a deer and crane, a popular Buddhist motif also called the Six Harmonies, representing everything on earth under heaven, bordered by geometric scrolling patterns. 19th century. Beautiful and Unusual antique Tibetan portable flint lock container. The "U" shaped brass body of a lidded box is chased and decorated with the "Wheel of Dharma." Backed with a metal belt loop used to fashion on ones belt. Container to store black powered and lead bullets for matchlock rifle.

Antique Chinese porcelain teapot of a Wanli style with reticulated copper lid with remnants of gilt and silver in a floral cluster. Origianl reticulated design with stunning detail. Sides adorned with a dragon and a phoenix in cobalt blue, with red, green, yellow, and brown enamel, bare buff foot.

New Arrival

Antique Japanese large onigawara roof tile end cap. This beautiful tile was made in the toukigawara method with a hollow interior. It once graced the roof of a large building, perhaps a temple or an important house. It has a raised Tomoe crest (mon) in the center which is surrounded by wonderfully three dimensional swirling clouds and topped with it's own roof. Meiji Period (1868-1912). Size: 20" high x 22" wide x 12 1/2" deep.

Antique Japanese Onigawara rooftile, often found on Buddhist temples. This rooftree depicts the lucky god Daikoku's hammer for prosperity and good fortune, with cascading waters down its sides. Meiji age (1868-1912) Size: 24" L x 6" W x 19" H
