Chinese ceramic arrow form vase, with thick green crackle celadon glaze and wide squared mouth. An arrow vase is a type of vessel used for the game Touhu in which players would throw arrows into the cylinders attached to the sides of the neck.

Chinese Blue Monochrome Porcelain Square Container
Chinese antique porcelain brush container with unusually detailed scenes skillfully incised into each of its four sides. These pictorial reserves show figures in various scholarly pursuits including the study of written texts, scroll painting, playing music and board games, all in garden settings with various trees and vertical rock formations. The body of the container stands on four small corner feet. Glazed a turquoise blue and incised with a Qianlong mark (1735-1796).

Chinese white Peking Glass vase with painting in reddish-pink overglaze of a mountain palace scene. On one side, three figures approach a mountain pavilion where rocky crags rise out of the mist, trees bend and flocks of birds fly. On the reverse side is a lake with fishing boats and mountain peaks rising up in the distance. An inscription in black ink is written on the lake side of the vase. Chinese Antique Woven Rattan and Wood Trunk
Chinese antique trunk. Rectangular form with beautifully woven dark and light color rattan. Iron and brass hardware with nice patina. The inside of the trunk is made of wood with black lacquer, old calligraphy paper, and patterned cotton on the underside of the lid. Ring hinges.

Antique Chinese Bronze Peach Censer
Chinese small bronze tripod incenser in the form of a peach. With tall cylindrical tripod feet, the base of the peach is inscribed with cartouche in relief. Provenance from Zeilig Gallery Collection, previously purchased from Spinks 1979.

Rare Chinese Sancai Glazed Pottery Figure of a Horse, Tang Dynasty
Chinese rare Sancai glazed pottery figure of a standing horse. The saddle pad is glazed with four colors including a rare blue. The saddle itself is covered with a vermillion slip and naturalistically modeled with sweeping folds of fabric. Most exquisite is the graceful arching of the horses neck, the slight turn of the perfectly proportioned head, and one whimsically turned back ear. With TL test papers.

Pair of Chinese Soapstone Fu Dog Bookends
Pair of Exquisite Chinese soapstone carvings of fu dogs, one male and one female with her baby. The pedestals on which the fu dogs stand show motif panels of horses in various form and pose.

Provenance: From a private estate, originally purchased at Morcom's House of Beautiful Things - Oakland, which closed in the 1920s.

Antique Chinese Gilt Carved Qilin Panel
Chinese gilt temple carving of a Qilin breathing fire. Resembling a fu dog, the creature is a chimera mixed with a lion, a deer, a dragon, and sometimes other animals. The Qilin is said to appear with the arrival and the passing of a sage or high ruler.

Antique Chinese Porcelain Daoist Monk
Chinese porcelain figure of a seated Daoist monk. The monk's skin is left unglazed, his draping robes and seat with Sancai "three colors" of yellow, green, and dark purple underglazes. One of the figure's ears is pierced through for gas to escape during kiln firing.
