Rare large Ban Chiang earthenware pottery vessel. Geometric rope designs around a central seed pod.

For Thais and ceramic enthusiasts everywhere, the name Ban Chiang (บ้านเชียง)conjures up an image of uniquely painted pottery. The red pattern, which later became known as the “Ban Chiang Rope”, characterizes the clay jars that are around 5,000-7,000 years old, and, perhaps, some of the oldest in the world.

Chinese Antique Porcelain Bowl with Cranes
Chinese antique porcelain bowl with blue and white glaze. The interior design is of three cranes in flight and wisps of swirling clouds encircled by two concentric rings. The design on the outside of the bowl is of different alternating flower branches. With a six character Jiajing mark.

A CHINESE 'QINGBAI' Cup & Stand, SONG Dynasty (960-1279 AD)
The thinly potted shallow cup rising from a short flared foot to an everted rim, the rounded sides divided into six petal lobes by notches around the rim, resting on a stand of saucer shape with a hexalobed rim and stepped pedestal in the center, all on a trefoil-pierced petal-shaped foot, both covered overall with a pale ice-blue translucent glaze.
There is a single old kitsugi repair in gold on rim.
