Wonderful antique Japanese okimono of the mythical characters Ashinaga and Tenaga. The two friends live on the beach and survive on fish. Tenaga catches them with his long arms while sitting on the back of Ashinaga who wades out into the water with his long legs. Carved with great detail and whimsy out of boxwood. Japanese antique happi coat, made of cotton with white paste resist ground and design of light blue mon and characters, collar and interior edge of sleeves reinforced with pieces of blue and white plaid cotton fabric, Meiji/Taisho Period. Size: 32" high x 49 1/2" wide

Japanese antique indigo work coat, sashiko stitched indigo ikat sleeves, reinforced shoulders with black cotton, beautiful thick woven indigo cotton fabric, vents in under arm area edged in black cotton, Meiji Period. Size; 39" high x 45" wide

Japanese antique buddhist priest's robe, made all of woven silk, blue ground with gold medallions with cranes and pine bow design, sewn in panels, original white and purple cord on sleeves, late Meiji Period. Size: 60" high x 77" wide.

Beautiful Japanese light colored gold guilt lacquered case with fans. There are six fans with cranes, landscape scenes, and fruit. Original brass hardware has a lovely scrolling design. The interior has two drawers below one compartment with latticed sliding doors. Mid - Meiji Period (1868 - 1912). It measures 14.5" tall by 16.5" wide by 9.5" deep.

Rare Japanese spear (Yari) from the early 19th century. striking blade with three edges. Lacquered red cap to protect blade. Hand forged iron fittings.

Japanese antique shinto shrine, made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood, wonderful details with elaborate staircase and other temple details including miniature baku, fudogs and a dragon, copper roof with nice patina, Edo Period. Size: 28 1/2" high x 22" wide x 27 1/4" deep.
