Antique Japanese jingasa, samurai helmet made of hammered copper. Bulbous form with rounded rim. Zinc lining and copper hooks with a hemp cord. A single character mon in black lacquer on the front. On a custom metal stand.
The samurai class in feudal Japan, as well as their retainers and footsoldiers (ashigaru), used several types of jingasa made from iron, copper, wood, paper, bamboo, or leather.

Rare Edo Japanese fudog fukusa embroidery. The silk panel is embroidered in gold with detailed fu dog climbing the mountainous terrain. Backed on its original green velvet organic material.
In the 17th–19th centuries, fukusa were used to wrap gifts in a ceremonial setting. They were more decorative than functional, and were used to add beauty to the gift and to show the refinement of the donor and recipient.

Pair of Dutch Antique Delft Porcelain Fish Plates
Pair of Dutch antique porcelain Delft ware fish plates. Rectangular in form and glazed with traditional blue palate. Used for serving herring, this design dates from the 1880's. These two herring plates were made in the Delft workshop by two different artists. The marks on the bottom include the factory mark, (below running right to left) the artist's initials, the date code, and the item number.
