Japanese Woodblock Print "The Ace of Hearts" by Jun-ichirô Sekino
Woodblock print of a maiko playing cards. Seated with her back toward the viewer, displaying her richly embroidered obi with flying cranes, she looks over her shoulder and demurely displays the card in her hand, the ace of hearts. The background is decorated with a pattern similar to that of her obi, flying cranes and swirling water with applied flecks of gold leaf on a yellow ground.

Antique Japanese Bronze Mythical Dragon w/ Golden Rutilated Quartz
Swirling free standing bronze dragon reaching upward supporting a golden rutilated quartz energy ball. Three claws on each of the four feet. The dragon has an arching twisted body with an open mouth. Original patina with natural variation of bronze tones.

The Japanese see dragons as benefactors and protectors of mankind. Dragon tattoos symbolize bravery, wisdom, and strength. Overall in wonderful original condition.

Antique Japanese Oribe ware (Oribe-yaki) mizusashi (cold water container for replenishing the water in a tea kettle) for tea ceremony. This type of Oribe is called Ao-Oribe (green Oribe) as it prominently features a rich green copper-sulfate glaze. This is applied in generous dripping swaths of color over a white crackle glaze. Japanese Antique Iron Tetsubin (Tea Pot) with Dragon in Clouds
Antique Japanese tetsubin (kettle for heating water for tea) made of cast iron and decorated with a dragon in swirling clouds. The highly raised design depicts a dragon curling itself around the body of the pot. The clouds over hang in a ledge above the base. There is a large raised cartouche on the back underneath this ridge. The lid is made of bronze.

Age: Taisho Period (1912-1926)
