Antique Burmese statue of Buddha carved from alabaster. He is portrayed in a Mandalay style, which emerged at the end of the 18th century, in which he sports a bun at the top of his head, has a fleshier face, and is shown seated in a lotus position performing the Bhumispharsa mudra where he touches the Earth as he reaches enlightenment through meditation. Around his wrist is a seal of export. 19th century Size: 10" height, 8.5" width
