Antique Chinese small dish carved of rock crystal in the form of a circling dragon. Subtle ghost-like inclusions in the natural, clear quartz. Beautifully detailed. Among Chinese symbols, the dragon represents the most powerful symbol of good fortune, the symbol of cosmic Chi (energy).

Antique Japanese cast iron tetsubin (kettle for heating water for tea). Made with a tall handle and bell-shaped body. Raised shells adorn one side with a raised abalone shell on the other. The intentional casting of rough edges adds a natural beach-like appearance. The lid is also made of cast iron.

Japanese antique wood block print of the sumo wrestler, Unryū Kyūkichi (Unryū Hisakichi) with beard and wearing a keshō-mawashi (ceremonial apron-style belt). Unryū Kyūkichi was in the makuuchi league since 1852. Name used from 1850-1865. He retired in 1865. Signed by Kōchōrō Toyokuni ga and date seal between 1851-1853. Framed print.

Japanese antique wood block print of the sumo wrestler, Tsuneyama Gorojin wearing keshō-mawashi (ceremonial apron-style belt). Gorojin was in the Makuuchi league since 1843. Name used from 1842-1856. He retired in 1859. Print by Kuniyoshi Utagawa and dated 1852 (year of the Rat) or 1853 (year of the Ox). Framed print.

A pair of antique Rajasthan architectural fragments of warriors on horseback against foot soldiers. Hardwood mounted to a removable stand. Some loss to the carvings.

Antique Japanese kannon biraki tansu. Single section with hinged doors which open to reveal 4 interior drawers; two large and two small. Made all of kiri (paulownia) wood with iron hardware. The large, round lock plate and cross bracing are classical aspects of this type of chest. Used for storing clothing and outfitted with handles for carrying.

Antique Japanese pair of armor boxes. Made of kiri (paulownia) wood and lacquered a deep reddish orange color with black details. Iron hardware including carrying handles. The crest is that of two crossing hawk feathers (Takanoha), possibly the crest of the Abe Clan. The Abe Clan (安倍氏, Abe-shi) was a samurai family that was close to the Tokugawa shogunate.

Antique Japanese large temple bronze hibachi. Round form with handles on either side and standing on three low feet. Decorated with raised bands of archaic motifs including alternating chimera and kylin mythical creatures.

A very Rare example of a Han dynasty Chinese large tomb pottery figure of a horse, gray clay with traces of white and red slip pigment, tail and ears are separate pieces, wonderful example of Han Dynasty tomb sculpture with very stylized geometric shaped features, great whimsical expression with open mouth.

Comes with TL (thermal luminescence) test dating to Han Dynasty 206 B.C. -220 A.D.
