Antique Japanese Bamboo Ikebana Basket Diagonal Cross-hatch Design
An antique Japanese bamboo Ikebana basket in a stylized Baluster form with bi-color bamboo intertwined with mature bamboo featuring dark nodules in a diagonal cross-hatch pattern. Each square of the pattern measures 1 3/8" and they are not tightly woven though they are in scale with the size of the basket. The handles were created using twisted stalks that were integrated free-form into the basket. Open mouth with twisted rope lip.

Antique Tibetan Traveling Trunk Hand Painted Leather Over Wood
An antique Tibetan traveling trunk made of hand hewn Pine wood. Leather was stretched over the wood and hand painted in polychrome lacquer. There are arrow shaped hard mounts, butterfly appliqué mounts on the corners and Dorje accents. The central panel features an offering tray of Hoju (sacred jewels). Stylized Peonies decorate the trunk and the main colors used were analogous primary hues. The cover of the top features a green water dragon.

This is an antique two section Korean Nong made of a hardwood with beautiful Maple wood accents. Original Nickel hardware with four drawers along the upper part of each section. There are bat handles representing happiness and medallions behind the lower handles signifying a wedding. The four carved panels on the upper half display two scenes of deer searching for the magic mushroom Lingzhi and two scenes of a Phoenix next to the Paulownia tree.

A stunning fine antique Japanese makie lacquer box decorated with a tataki-nuri style black background with makie of vines and gourd and folding fans on the exterior. The interior is decorated in nashiji with a still life of a flower arrangement set in a basket with a charming lifelike rabbit and autumn grass for the inner tray. The vibrant colors and designs are often seen in lacquer works from the Edo and Meiji periods. Overall excellent original condition.

An antique Japanese Sado Island Kasane Tansu made of Kiri (Paulownia) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand forged iron hardware (including Warabite handles) and wiped Urushi lacquer finish. The metalsmith showcased his talent adding Chrysanthemum corners to each drawer front and Mum backplates to each handle. As if that were not enough, the tansu maker added iron plating to the front frame showcasing the individual drawers.
