An antique Japanese Kimono Tansu made of 100% quartered sawn Keyaki (Zelkova) hardwood and Suginoki interior (Cryptomeria) woods. All original Urushi lacquer and hand forged iron hardware including the Warabite handles. 5 large drawers with a hinged security door that hides 2 small drawers where valuable were kept hidden. Lock plates feature the full moon design and it was constructed using straight dovetail Japanese joinery and hardened wooden nails.

An antique Japanese Ko Choba Tansu (small merchant chest) made of Sakuranoki (Cherry Wood) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria). All original Urushi lacquer and hand forged iron hardware including the Warabite handles. The front hinged door hides 7 drawers of varying sizes.

Originally used by a merchant to keep valuables and store records and documents. In a present day home, this chest would function well as a side table or an accent piece.

An antique Japanese Kaidan Tansu (stair chest) in 2 sections made of Hinoki (Cypress), Aka Matsu (Red Pine) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Original hand forged iron hardware including the stylized Hirute handles. 7 steps with an added riser at the top. Each step is a short 5" long with a 10 1/4" riser and a left to right incline. 4 drawers with a hinged door for spacious storage.

Antique Japanese cylindrical hibachi made of bent suginoki (cryptomeria) and decorated with a maki-e lacquer scene of a family of chickens in a bamboo grove. The mother hen and two chicks look for food on the ground while their father rooster looks back at his third little chick. Bamboo details are made of inlaid shell and the background is flecked in gold. With a copper insert.

Antique Chinese small blue and white glazed porcelain ink cake container. The lid is domed and decorated with a lively five-clawed dragon floating in a sky with wisps of clouds and the flaming jewel. The bottom portion of the container is also decorated with a wave-like pattern and a Qianlong mark. Inside are still the colorful ink remnants from it's previous scholarly owner.

Antique Chinese porcelain water coupe in the form of a pine branch. Whimsically sculpted with a gibbon hanging from it's handle. Glazed a lovely mauve color on the outside and a white glaze inside. Underside has Wang Bing Rong mark in a raised cartouche. Wang Bing Rong (1840-1900) specialized in carved decoration on porcelain and was active during the Tongzhi to Gunagxu Period.

An antique Japanese hibachi (brazier) cast in bronze and hand crafted with a dragon and thunder bolts flying amidst the stormy clouds on one side and a crouching tiger with its playful partner hanging from a bamboo limb in a forest of bamboo on the opposing side.
