An antique Japanese Kyoto Mizuya Tansu (kitchen chest) in 2 sections made of Keyaki (Zelkova), Hinoki (Cypress) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hardware including bronze sliding door handles and hand forged iron drawer pulls. The full moon theme follows the round upper sliding door handles and the drawer pulls. Antique Japanese lacquer tebako (accessories box), made of lacquered wood with dense gold nishiji and a gold maki-e lacquer design of flowers, possibly clematis, on a vine. The rim is made of pewter and the interior is lacquered with a spars nishiji on a black lacquer ground. Comes with kiri wood tomobako.

Antique Japanese lacquer suzuribako decorated with a pair of deer in raden (shell inlay) and lead on a black lacquer ground. The box opens to reveal a writing set including a lacquered copper rectangular water dropper, an ink stone with brush rests on either side against a background of black lacquer with Rinpa style gold maki-e designs of curling plant fronds.

Antique Korean Bandaji known as a blanket storage trunk, made of a heavy Red Pine wood with a deep rich original patina. A single door is hinged horizontally and opens downward to reveal a large compartment for storage. Though these trunks were used for storage of household items, bedding was usually folded and placed on top, thus giving them the name blanket storage trunk.

A Mounted Antique Japanese jingasa, samurai's hat. Lacquered a deep brown color with a pattern of armor pieces cross stitched together and decorated with gold double agehonocho (swallowtail butterfly) crest of the Taira clan (also called Heike clan). The underside is lacquered red and it comes with a custom metal stand.

Antique Japanese jingasa (samuai's hat). Overlapping panels similar to that of a samurai's movable armor and embellished with metal spikes. Lacquered a brownish black with three distinctive Myoga (ginger) kamon of the Nabeshima clan in gold lacquer. The underside is lacquered red. Comes with a custom metal stand.

An antique Japanese Cha Kobako (tea storage and serving box) made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Upper open shelf for serving dish storage. Lift-out door behind which tea, teapot and teacups were stored for serving guests. Bottom drawer was used to store serving accoutrements. Lucky carved Pine motif representing longevity on either side of the chest.

Antique Chinese vase with a raised water dragon on both front and back. Faceted sides are decorated with auspicious symbols. The sculpting of the dragons and other motifs is very 3 dimensional. The vase is glazed yellow, white, and aubergine on a rich green ground. The bottom of the vase is incised with the word "China". This was a requirement of all Chinese porcelain imported into the United States as early as 1890 and in accordance with the Stamp Act of 1894.

An antique Japanese Buddhist altar stand made of Keyaki (Zelkova) wood. All original Urushi lacquer and each part was hand carved. Featuring a center lotus flower with a 4 petal Dorje Vajra on each side. Beautiful craftsmanship throughout. Slight loss to back leg support.
