A rare pair of 18th century hand carved Edo period solid keyaki (zelkova) peonies that would have been mounted on temple doors. Finely carved three dimensionally with great detail, condition is very good.
Custom fabricated stands with antique bronze finish float each carving securely and ready to display.

Unusual Japanese Antique Black Lacquer Jingasa with Gold Mon
Japanese circular jingasa with a gradual pointed top and curved rim in the front. Lacquered black with a crest in gold. The underside is lacquered red.

Jingasa ("war hat", a type of kasa commonly worn by samurai and ashigaru.

The upper portion of each chest has a row of 4 small drawers with handles featuring bat shaped back plates. There is additional decorative corner hardware on the body and doors of the chest.
