Antique Chinese Qingbai Dish with Motif of Fish
Chinese porcelain dish with Qingbai light blue-green crackle glaze and very thin form. The well of the dish with incised motif of three swimming fish on wave ground, and low relief geometric scrolls and arrows along the inner edges, the rim left bare from glaze. The outer body slightly lobed and the foot is shallowly recessed and very wide and flat.

Provenance: From a private Beverly Hills estate

Chinese blue and white cylindrical porcelain incense vessel with a hardwood lid, carved with openwork lingzhi mushroom motifs and tripod feet. The vessel body depicts a scene of a scholar and attendant standing against a large rock formation. The sun in the sky above and the moon on the reverse side. Two fu dog heads form the pierced handles on the vessel.

A small Chinese eggshell thin ceramic bowl with celadon green underglaze. The center of the bowl is incised with floral motifs and scrolls, and the outer edges are scored with ridged lines. The body tapers to a small, slightly recessed foot with the edges exposed without glaze. Longquan celadon 15th century.

Chinese monochrome porcelain vase in a peach bloom underglaze of mottled green and red. The body of the vase is slightly rounded with a dramatic flattened two step foot, left unglazed around the edges. The neck is tall, slender and cylindrical in shape and fades to white around the rim. With six character Kangxi mark in cobalt blue on base. Most likely 19th century.

Japanese lacquer tray with low relief depiction of a peacock in fine gold maki-e lacquer, with maki-e lacquer chrysanthemums, against a nashiji gold flake ground. The peacock's face and the "eyes" of the feathers are inlaid with finely ground shell. The edges of the tray are of a mokko melon shape and the reverse of the tray is all in nashiji lacquer. With display stand.

Each chest is detailed on top, front, and sides with highly intricate mother of pearl inlay scenes of fishermen on boats, beautiful women, deer, rabbits, travelers riding donkeys, and vast landscape scenes.... Japanese calligraphy box made with Keyaki (elm) wood in original dark red lacquer finish. The lid lifts open on three iron hinges with a top iron handle to a shallow lacquered compartment for storing calligraphy papers, and closes securely with a small iron latch. The front of the box holds three drawers with iron lock plates and handles on floral shaped iron mounts.
