Chinese carving of immortals on a boat, made entirely of Zitan hardwood. The boat appears to be made of an ancient, gnarled tree sprouting flowers, with its canopy of leaves covering the passengers underneath. The 3 male immortal figures sit huddled closely around a lingzhi mushroom, which holds medicinal properties and is a symbol of longevity. A Chinese robin's egg ceramic brush washer, with a rounded body tapering to the flat, unglazed foot, the round wide opening shows the interior is all glazed in robin's egg glaze. The sides are in the classic mottled turquoise and purple glaze with stipple texture from the time of firing. The robin's egg glaze technique requires low-firing and uses two different colors of mottled purple-blue and turquoise. Period 18th centnury.

Japanese pair of Fukugawa Imari ware porcelain bottle neck vases. With imagery of blue and gilt enamel phoenixes against a ground of red cherry blossoms, blue waves, floral medallions and gilt outlines. The long slightly fluted neck with medallions on a gilt design ground and gilt rim, tapered to a rounded body with short tapered foot, blue lotus petals and double ring above the foot, each vase signed with a Fukugawa mark signifying the pieces date from 1900 - 1920.

During the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897), ceramics were considered to represent the highest quality of achievement from royal, city, and provincial kilns, the last of which were export-driven wares. Joseon enjoyed a long period of growth and production, which is still preserved today.
