Chinese Scroll Painting signed Xie Zhi Liu
Chinese scroll painting of a butterfly resting atop a blooming lily, with calligraphy and signature chop of Xie Zhi Liu (1910-1997), a well-known member of the Shanghai School who would later befriend the famous artist Zhang Daqian and joined him for later studies. His artworks can be found in the China Art Museum in Shanghai and has an art gallery named after him in Changzhou. Zhi Liu was married to another famous painter named Chen Peiqiu. (born 1922)
