Chinese Style Hardwood Altar Table with RE Studio Signature Mark
A wonderful contemporary furniture piece in a Chinese altar table style, made by a highly regarded local craftsman. The underside has the RE Studio brand mark to show it is a special, original made piece. Made of black walnut with smooth natural finish, with special decorative elements such as lighter "ash" hardwood "keys", and "butterflies" on the inner leg to hold the natural fissures of the wood. Skillfully made with mortis and tenon joinery.

Antique Japanese theater robe, hand-embroidered with intricate motifs of ocean waves and flames. The central image is of a large embroidered dragon with glass eyes, swimming in the ocean waves, with Mount Fuji across the shoulders. The interior is lined in solid light orange fabric with floral print towards the bottom. Mid Meiji period (1868 - 1912)

Originally used as an backpack to carry from one town to the next. Merchant selling his objects or services that he contained within this piece. The front has two hinged locking doors with several drawers hidden within. Beautiful original finish and condition.

Antique Tibetan vajrakila phurba, a Buddhist sacred dagger "believed to be capable of transmuting vice and egocentrism into benevolent compassion. According to legend, Padmasambava introduced the magic dagger to Tibet to subdue forces hostile to Buddhism." (Bonhams Auction Tues. June 28, 2016 page.14.) Made of iron and copper alloy.
