Beautiful Chinese antique tray made of intricately carved red cinnabar with carved black lacquer overlay, the red lacquer is carved in a tiny patterned background while the black lacquer is carved as a scene of scholars in a garden setting with black mountains rising on the other side of a carved cinnabar lake, the edges are carved with flowers and bats, stands on four small feet, late 19th century. Size: 16" long x11 1/2" wide x 1 3/4" high

Sino Tibetan bronze statue of the Buddhist deity Tara, the "mother of liberation" and representation of the virtues of success in work and achievements. She is a tantric figure whose image is used as a focus for meditation. She is shown gesturing the Dharmachakra Mudra, or Wheel-Turning Mudra, expressing the continuous energy of the cosmic order. Antique Japanese carved wooden mask of an okina, or old man, used in the theatrical art form of Noh.
