A rare large early Edo period Japanese Temple Ranma. Carved from a single cut of depicting three legendary spirits in Japanese folklore. Bukan and his tiger is depicted coming forth from the trees and landscape. Bukan was a legendary Chan monk who lived in China during the Tang dynasty (618-907). Known for his eccentric behaviors, he was accompanied by a tiger.

Antique Japanese diptych woodblock print by the artist Utagawa Kunisada (1786-1865) also known as Toyokuni III. The scene is of two beautiful ladies entertaining two men, most likely either samurai or actors in an elegant urban setting overlooking the harbor.

Antique Japanese multi tired chest with single double hinged central compartment. All sides are decorated with circular gold lacquered bamboo, camilas, peony scene interspersed with the gold Tokugawa Shogunate family crest. Condition is consistent with age and does show wear. Very sturdy and is 100% complete. Ready to be enjoyed for many more years to come.

Song Dynasty 'Henan' black and iron-oxide glazed Meiping pottery vase or jar. Oval form with high shoulders and small mouth with loop handles on either side. The almost abstract design of two large flowers is freely painted. Lovely rich black glaze on buff color pottery. Unglazed circular foot with glazed inset bottom.

With a design of Buddhist influence, it features 2 pairs of sliding doors, five drawers and a lift-out door. The main doors are framed in glass allowing for seasonal and cultural objects to be displayed. All original hardware and lacquer finish.
