Japanese antique two section kasane isho tansu (chest on chest for clothing) made all of kiri (paulownia) wood. The top section has three large drawers and the bottom section has two drawers. Iron hardware includes round lock plates, warabite shaped drawer pulls, corner and edge brackets, and nice handles on the sides.

Japanese antique large futon cover with a design of Shochikubai, Three Friends of Winter; pine, bamboo and plum. Symbolizing the qualities of each: vitality of pine - evergreen even in the cold and snow; vigor of bamboo - growing with unstoppable strength; and plum - grace, beauty and anticipation of Spring.
On this futon covering, the pine is large and growing around it is the blossoming plum. Smaller shoots of plum and bamboo grow low out of the winter-hardened ground.

Japanese antique noren (doorway curtain) made of indigo dyed cotton in three panels. The design is executed in traditional tsutsugaki paste resist technique and shows a scene of butterflies and an exuberance of blossoming peonies growing from the rocky ground. Looped tabs at the top of the noren allow for it to be hung by a rod.

Japanese antique wisteria mon futon cover. Made of cotton and sewn together in four panels, this futon cover is decorated with the large wisteria blossom crest (Fuji no Mon) of the Fugiwara clan. The Fugiwara family gained political power through diplomacy and intermarriages with the imperial family from the 9th to the 12th century. Besides this, the wisteria blossom is a symbol of grace, longevity and refined beauty.

Iron hardware includes round lock plates and warabite shaped drawer pulls. Each section is an equal height of 18 3/4" so they could be used side by side.

The safe box has a hinge door that opens to reveal 2 small interior drawers. Iron hardware and includes large warabite shaped drawer pulls.

Japanese antique cha tansu (tea chest) made out of kuri or chestnut wood on the front and sides made out of sugi (Japanese cedar). The sliding panels are framed with Kuri wood and inset with Keyaki (elm wood). 2 compartments with sliding panals, 1 compartment with drop-in panel and 3 drawers. Beautiful joinery with all kiri interior.

An authentic pair of Edo period samurai kote (armored sleeves), constructed with a combination of iron chainmail (kusari) and hexagonal plate armor (karuta). An antique Indian votive Shiva Lingam with a figure of a large Naga (snake). This lingam sits on the outer edge of one of the large coils of the great snake. It represents the union of opposites, the male and female energies combined in creation and Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction.
