Antique Chinese Ming Dynasty porcelain plate with celadon glaze decorated with a molded raised pair of raised fish in the center. The underside of the plate has a raised lotus motif with petals radiating out from the unglazed foot. The twin fish is an auspicious symbol representing harmonious marriage and good fortune.

Antique Chinese 12-panel coromandel carved lacquer screen. A tranquil scene of court ladies and children, strolling through pavilion gardens, enjoying music and boats. Antique Japanese large Buddhist altar table. Made of carved and lacquered wood and decorated with many petalled chrysanthemums. The kiri blossom in the center is the mon used by the Toyotomi clan. Dramatically curved legs and flanged top. Covered in a warm gilt lacquer finish. The table top is lacquered black.

An antique Japanese Kotansu (organizer storage chest) made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulwonia) wood. Hand forged iron hardware with Warabite handles. 9 drawers used for organizing artist supplies, Japanese carpenter hardware or store supplies. Constructed using straight dovetail Japanese joinery and hardened wooden nails. A very utilitarian chest that would work well in any home decor.

An antique Japanese Kotansu (personal storage chest) made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. All original bronze hardware. Two sliding doors behind which is a storage area with a split level shelf. 5 drawers provide additional organization and storage. Constructed using straight dovetail Japanese joinery and hardened wooden nails. It would function well as a beside stand or a side table. Small enough to use as a desk organizer.

An antique Japanese Isho Biraki Tansu comprised of 3 stacking sections and made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Top section has 2 sliding doors behind which is a spacious storage area with 3 side by side drawers below. Center section has two doors that open to 4 Kimono trays and the bottom section has 2 large drawers. The sections can be separated for use in different rooms or stacked for use as a dresser drawer.

Antique Chinese tomb pottery figure of an ox with bridle and harness. Modeled with large eyes and a friendly expression, this ox was made to loyally serve it's owner in the afterlife. Made of terra-cotta with traces of brown, black and white slip pigment.

Antique Japanese bronze usubata (container for ikebana flower arranging). Charming bronze frog with bumpy skin except for his belly and under chin which are smooth. Out of his mouth comes the stem of the water container portion of the usubata. Inside the inverted conical container is a rounded form with ridges for holding flowers and branches in place. Antique Chinese large porcelain vase. Decorated all over with a basket texture and a pair of dragons with a flaming pearl and cloud-like mist. The body of the vase is glazed a celadon green while the dragons remain a very pale bluish white. The dragons represent the endless cycle of transformation and the flaming wish-granting pearl is one of the Eight Treasures and represents pure intention.

Antique Japanese hikeshi banten, fireman's coat. Made of cotton and stitched over every inch using a sashiko quilting technique. Fires were common in Japanese urban areas due to the dense population as well as construction material (primarily wood and paper). Fire brigades were made up of samurai class (buke hikeshi) as well as common class (machi hikeshi) and their primary goal in containing a fire was to knock out the surrounding buildings so the fire had no more fuel.
